Your opinion matters
We believe that everybody who uses public transport in Merseyside should have the right to a say in its future development.

Help us develop the best possible service to you
The Community Links Access Team will provide people, who use or would like to use public transport, with the opportunity to make Merseytravel aware of their needs and demands. This will help us to develop the best possible service to you.

Women's Forum
Women are the main users of public transport. This is your opportunity to influence the future shape of Merseyside's public transport system.

Transport Access Panel
A forum for people who have physical or sensory disabilities and may experience difficulties when using public transport.

Merseytravel Advisory Panels
The Community Links Access Team works in partnership with our five advisory panels. There is one for each district: Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Sefton and Wirral.

We Provide
Information packs on:

  • Community Transport Grants
  • Travel Sponsorship for:
    • Community Groups
    • Schools
    • Groups for people with travel access issues

Supporting Schools

Merseyside is dependent upon public transport for local travel because the level of car ownership is lower than the national average. Merseytravel works in partnership with local people, involving them in the transport issues that affect their lives. Working with schools is very important to us, as young people of today are the adult travellers of the future. In order to assist teachers to present the message of why public transport is import, three new contrasting publications are available from Merseytravel.

Merseytravel’s Educational Resources

These resources contribute to the Merseytravel Education Initiative that seeks to bring young people’s attention to the value of public transport and how to use it properly.
  • The City travel pack is aimed at the Foundation Stage to help explore “The World”.
  • The Moving with Merseytravel pack is aimed at children in the lower primary school age range and has strong links to the geography curriculum.
  • The Sustainable Development pack is aimed at upper juniors and Key Stage 3 pupils, challenging them to a lower carbon-use lifestyle.
  • The Inside Merseytravel and Mersey Ferries pack is aimed at GCSE and vocational courses in Business Studies and Leisure and Tourism.
  • The Better for everyone pack is aimed at Key Stage 4 students and is linked to the requirements of the Citizenship programme of study.
  • The Here to There pack is aimed at young people who might need specific support to access public transport.
  • The How to make a bus journey booklet provides a step-by-step approach to accessing bus services within the Merseytravel area.
  • Easybus cards show how to make a bus journey, step-by-step and are useful for year 6 pupils prior to transition to secondary school.
